| सारांश: | ABSTRACT: Subcutaneous implants are a contraceptive method known for their long duration and effectiveness among women undergoing family planning. One of the safest and easiest forms of birth control is the subcutaneous implant, which is 99.9% effective for the first year. Subcutaneous implants are considered a good alternative to family planning due to the long-term suspicion and, most importantly, because it is easy to access its application. During the process of using the implant it is possible to visualize different types of adverse effects that harm the health of women, leading to the interruption of its use or opting for another type of implant, pregnancy rates vary from 0 for Implanon to 0.29 and 0.34 pregnancies per 100 women in the first year of use, for Norplant and Jadelle, respectively. This paper has derived a kind of retrospective descriptive research, which allows the authors to recognize the effectiveness and effects of the use of the subcutaneous implant. The population covers a total of 57 patients of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security Hospital. The analysis derived that the most used subdermal implant corresponded to levonorgestrel 150 mg with 84.21%; Among the most common adverse effects are headache with 36.84% and the evolution of the bleeding pattern with 26.32%. In terms of effectiveness, none of the women in the database examined were found pregnant during the use of the subcutaneous implant. |
