Sumari:The present research project is about the didactic material in the motor development of the children around five to six years of first Basic Education at the Doctor Gabriel Garcia Moreno school, in Guano canton, Chimborazo province, period 2016-2017, the objective was to determine the didactic material in the development of children from 4 to 5 years of age, in which corresponds to the sample were taken into account 35 children of the year of Education mentioned above, referring to the instruments to measure the variables of the study, firstly it was used a file applied an observation to identify the difficulty that children had in motor development, it consisted of five elaborated questions based on the development of both fine and gross motor skills and to conclude this analysis ten more questions were administered based on the observation and the student's reaction to the didactic material. Regarding the methodology the Descriptive Method was used with a non-experimental quantitative research design and a type of transactional or cross-sectional research. Through the analysis and interpretation of the observation sheet, it was evident that most of the children presented their acquired abilities, taking into account that 41% corresponding to 11 boys and girls presented difficulty in their gross motor skills, especially when coordinating their balance at walking or doing various activities. In the list of variables, it was concluded that the didactic material helped to identify the problems that exist in the different boys and girls under study. It was also of great importance to strengthen the learning and fine and gross motor development of the students. After checking the existing data, some strategies have been proposed that, when applied in daily practice with children, will strengthen and improve the quality of learning, considering playful and striking environments that impact and generate the focus of attention, resulting in an adequate development within the classroom generating positive aspects for this
