সংক্ষিপ্ত:The chief objective of this research project is to analyze the depictions of politics in the fictionalized biography “La Hoguera Bárbara”. From the Ecuadorian writer Alfredo Pareja Diezcanseco, a significant bibliographical investigation was carried out on the definition of politics and how it has influenced Ecuadorian society and in the Republican era. The novel “La Hoguera Bárbara” was analyzed using a rigorous semiotic analysis of the different representations, the narrative reveals a deep connection between the literary narrative and the critical historical events that shaped Ecuadorian society in the transition from the 19th to the 20th century. Moreover, the present investigation project makes an exhaustive compilation of the events that outlined the political, social, and cultural structure of Ecuador, in which the role of General Eloy Alfaro and the liberal revolution stands out, which would mark an important stage in the history of our country. The meticulous contrast between the forms of government during the time of General Eloy Alfaro presented in “La Hoguera Bárbara” illuminates the fundamental discrepancies and occasionally surprising similarities between conservative and liberal policies through a detailed analysis of symbolic, iconographic, and indicative aspects. This research work unravels how these regimes interacted with society and shaped the political and social fabric of Ecuador.
