Shrnutí:ABSTRACT: The current research was conducted at Olmedo Sports Center in Riobamba city in 2022 with the aim of examining how family and tolerance influence on frustration in athletes. Methodologically, the study belongs to a quantitative approach, documentary type, cross-sectional-non-experimental and correlational design, population was made up of 130 clinical records, with a sample of 60 records, collected in a non-probabilistic way, for convenience, the information collection techniques were a document review sheet, family Apgar and Frustration Tolerance Scale (ETAF). In the results, it was identified that 38.3% of the total sample presents a mild degree of family dysfunction with medium and high levels of tolerance to frustration; Subsequently, 28.3% were registered with a normal level of family functionality with high and medium levels of frustration tolerance; followed by 26.7% who obtained moderate family dysfunction with low and medium levels of frustration tolerance; also 6.7% present severe dysfunction with low levels of tolerance to frustration. Finally, a medium negative correlation was verified, with a bilateral significance of (p=0.000) less than 0.05, rejecting the null hypothesis and accepting the alternative, so this research shows that the less family dysfunction, the higher the level of frustration tolerance.
