Estrategias metodológicas para el aprendizaje de la lengua española en estudiantes migrantes de comunidades kichwa-hablantes. Propuesta de Intervención.

This research focuses on determining the methodological strategies for learning the Spanish language in migrant students from Kichwa-speaking communities, leaving a proposal for intervention to benefit the acquisition of Spanish as a second language. The study was carried out at the "Fernando Daquilema" Educational Unit in the province of Chimborazo, Riobamba. A mixed quantitative-qualitative methodology with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design was chosen for the development of the study. Therefore, it is a diagnostic, exploratory, descriptive, and documentary study. The population was composed of high school students and the highest authority of the Educational Unit, using the survey and the interview as data collection instruments. The students were surveyed in two phases; the first focused on their cultural ethnicity and knowledge of the Kichwa language to obtain a specific sample of a specific population for intervention (indigenous students); the second phase was focused on the learning of Spanish, taking into account their perception of the classes they have received at the institution. On the other hand, an interview was conducted with the highest authority (rector-teacher) to know their opinion about bilingual education. The results showed that many indigenous students entering the institution migrate from their communities to receive a quality education, leave their mother tongue, learn Spanish as a second language, and welcome into society. However, teachers have not determined the strategies to teach these students, as teaching Spanish as a second language is a topic to be developed.
