| Resumo: | The Comprehensive Health Care Model of Ecuador is the set of strategies, procedures, and tools that complement the actions of the actors of the National Health System, modifying the biologic approach towards a comprehensive one. It adopts the nursing theories; The same ones that take the person, care, health, and environment as their central axis. Despite the importance of their application, there is still a lack of adaptation to them, intending to determine the main nursing theories that contribute to the Comprehensive Health Care Model of Ecuador as a fundamental strategy to improve the population's health. Systematized information research carried out, selecting samples of the literature in scientific databases related to health issues such as Scielo, Medigraphic, Ridec, Elsevier, Dialnet, and Redalyc, obtaining a total of 62 articles containing information related to the subject of study. The main theories that contribute to the Comprehensive Health Care Model of Ecuador are those exposed by Nola Pender, Dorothea Orem, and Madeleine Leininger. It is also essential that professionals consider strategies to improve nursing care through personalization of care, effective communication, promotion of home care, and proper management of an assessment instrument, considering a theoretical model that contributes to supporting care based on scientific evidence and critical thinking. |
