Proceso histórico sobre la construcción de la Catedral Purísima de Macas

This research work entitled Historical process on the construction of the Cathedral Purísima de Macas, has as general objective to investigate in a comprehensive manner the historical process of construction of the Cathedral Purísima de Macas located in the province of Morona Santiago in Ecuador, Since it is one of the most significant sanctuaries of the Amazon region, besides being the most popularly visited of this city due to the great devotion that each of its believers have, therefore, giving visibility is essential to know who we are, where we come from and where we are going as active members of society, but above all of the Ecuadorian culture; Taking into account the above mentioned, the specific objectives are obtained which complement the research and will help to get a more complete picture about the historical process of construction of the cathedral by recovering and analyzing documentary sources and historical memory, describing the religious processes as well as identifying the cultural and artistic practices associated with the cathedral according to the information obtained. This research is of a documentary and formative nature, employing a qualitative approach based mainly on bibliographic and descriptive study. The methodology involved working with a sample of 5 individuals through the application of an interview with open questions. This approach was chosen to rescue the historical memory orally for further analysis. The results of this research, which allowed the interpretation of the information and the establishment of conclusions and recommendations, provide a rigorous and credible understanding of the historical process of the Cathedral of Macas and the importance of recovering our cultural heritage.
