Riassunto:The purpose of this research was to analyze the profile changes after orthodontic treatment in patients with extractions of premolar teeth, by studying radiographs to evaluate the improvement in dental structures and soft profile. The type of research applied in this work was observational, descriptive and cross-sectional. The study population consisted of 24 radiographs, divided into two groups: twelve initial and twelve final, which were selected by a non-probabilistic sampling for convenience and examined by the cephalometric analyzes of Steiner and Ricketts. The results showed that there are changes in the person's profile, but since the population was small, no significant changes were obtained at the statistical level, but individually, changes were evidenced in most of the radiographs, so in the pre-treatment 75% of the sample presented a convex profile and only 25% a straight profile, after treatment 83% showed a straight profile and only 17% remained unchanged, in the same way it was evident changes in the protrusion of the jaw and also in the incision of the incisors observing a decrease in both cases, concluding that orthodontic treatment with premolar extraction does generate changes in the profile of people, improving in this way their facial aesthetics.
