Omschrijving
Samenvatting:This research paper studies the comparative analysis of the content disseminated by El Comercio and La Posta regarding the June-November 2022 national strike. It seeks to identify the differences, similarities, and political biases these media outlets displayed within their respective Facebook posts during this event and time. The research employed a qualitative methodology to analyse in detail a total of 120 publications from June to November. The study focusses on analysing the digital publications of both outlets, as well as conducting two interviews with carefully selected experts. In this way, this study highlights the most relevant aspects of each publication, from the narrative they featured to images, videos, and text. An interview was conducted highlighting the involvement of an internal source within El Comercio who worked during the demonstrations, as well as another expert on the topic to gather perspectives based on their experiences. Conclusions were well-founded and based on the analyses and interviews that were conducted during the investigation. It ultimately resulted in suggestions and the creation of a scholarly paper aimed at obtaining a better comprehension of the functioning of these media channels and establishing a standard for the functioning of digital media generally.
