“Características del loop anterior del nervio mentoniano en individuos de la sierra central ecuatoriana. Hospital Durán, Ambato 2018”

The present research study was carried out in order to determine the characteristics of the anterior Loop of the chin nerve in individuals of the Ecuadorian central highlands. This research was descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional; which was intended to determine the length, angulation, type of Loop and establish significant differences between the left and right side and distinguish relationships between age and gender, position of the chin hole with the Loop pattern. The technique used was measurement and observation and its instrument were a registration form validated by SPSS, thirty-five computerized axial tomographs were analyzed using InVesalius software, measurements were made on three-dimensional surfaces and the t-test for related samples was used to determine the significant difference. The results obtained were that there was no significant difference in length between the left and right side of the same individual, while the angulation showed a statistically significant difference between both sides, descriptive statistics revealed that the most frequent Loop was the handle pattern or posterior, the length was greater in men than in women, the angulation was greater in women than in men and there was no relationship with age, the most frequent hole position was between the roots of the first and second premolar that was related to the Loop handle pattern or posterior.
