| Resumo: | The following research called Intangible Cultural Heritage and Tourism Development of the Providence Parish, Guano Canton used the survey that was validated by the experts of the National University of Chimborazo to collect data in the Providence Parish GAD and its inhabitants. It obtained an answer and information regarding the study problem. The tabulation of the data was performed in the Excel statistical program, building a database. Subsequently, SPSS Program was applied. Cronbach's alpha was performed, and it determined the reliability of the instruments. With the Chi-square method, the general and specific hypotheses were identified and accepted. Through it, the conclusions were obtained, determining that intangible cultural heritage and tourism development has evolved in a significant and complementary influence, among the inhabitants, and the resources you have in your environment. The diversification of the economy is essential. The insertion of tourist activities helps to enhance the daily activities of the parish and lead a useful life. In order to strengthen the identities and cultural features of the inhabitants, it is vital to take advantage of the intangible cultural heritage as a strategy. In this way, the competitiveness of tourism activities can be improved.
