要約:Patellar tendinopathy is a frequent injury in high-performance athletes, especially in impact and jumping sports, due to patellar tendon overload. Its prevalence varies according to the discipline, affecting 24.8% of volleyball players and 20.8% of basketball players. Isometric exercises have been shown to be effective in strengthening the muscle and relieving pain without affecting performance. Objective: To analyze the effects of isometric exercises on patellar tendinopathy in high-performance athletes. Methodology: A literature review was carried out, using a descriptive method. The inductive research method will allow the analysis of the different points of view of the variables involved. The search was carried out in Spanish and English in Medline, Web of Science and Scopus. The methodological quality of the articles was evaluated using the PEDro scale. Results: Taking into account the study variables, 55 articles initially formed part of the research work, of which 20 were selected by applying both inclusion and exclusion criteria, which correspond to the study population. Conclusion: Isometric exercises have been shown to be effective in the initial management of pain and improving functionality, although their structural impact on the tendon is limited. Their effectiveness depends on the intensity and duration of the contraction, highlighting the importance of personalizing therapeutic protocols to optimize results.
