Material concreto en el aprendizaje de las Secciones Cónicas, Segundo Año de Bachillerato Unidad Educativa Miguel Ángel León Pontón

Conic sections are a fundamental part of geometry. Therefore, their study should be an engaging experience, incorporating tools that allow students to enhance their ideas, creativity, and ability to generate their knowledge. The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the use of concrete materials in the learning of conic sections among the second-year General Secondary School students at the "Miguel Ángel León Pontón" Educational Unit during the 2023-2024 academic period. The study followed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the explanatory level. The population consisted of students in the second year of the General Secondary School, and a purposive non- probability sample of 60 students was selected. Data were collected using two instruments: a survey to identify needs for the design of concrete materials and a knowledge test to gather information on the acquired understanding of conic sections. The hypothesis test yielded a p_valor = 0,012<α, which led to acceptance of the alternative hypothesis, which confirmed that the use of concrete materials has a positive influence on the learning of conic sections among students in the second year of the Integrated General Secondary School of the "Miguel Ángel León Pontón" Educational Unit. In conclusion, concrete materials were designed, implemented, and evaluated, and it is recommended that such materials be adapted to the student's developmental stages and the resources available.
