| Yhteenveto: | Perinatal neurological damage is defined as injury to the brain that disrupts both the structural and functional integrity of the developing nervous system. Neurorehabilitation is a diagnostic and therapeutic method which has been designed with the purpose of offering an early clinical-diagnostic approach, and in this way prevent the sequelae of brain injury in newborns, neurorehabilitation as a therapeutic method proposes the performance of a intensive program, in which the patient must execute by himself the sensorimotor patterns of neurodevelopment. Katona therapy makes it possible to diagnose at an early age if the baby suffers from a disability such as cerebral palsy, psychomotor problems, deafness or attention, language or learning disorders that are detected after three years of age. The method consists of placing the child in certain positions and analyzing whether he responds like a normal child. A search for scientific articles related to the Katona method as a treatment for brain injury was carried out in different scientific databases such as ScienceDirect, PudMed, SciELO, Google Scholar, Dialnet, Redalyc.org. A total of 89 articles were collected and 35 were selected by undergoing an evaluation by the PEDro scale. Once the opinion of each author was analyzed, it was concluded that when applying the Katona method there is a better performance in interaction, directed orientation and communication skills, delay in the development of children is prevented and progress in terms of development also occurs. motor, turning reflex, straightening, traction and crawling, reducing the risk of some type of disability in the future and the use of assistive devices. |
