| Čoahkkáigeassu: | This investigation seeks to determine the learning problems of students in the ninth year of Basic General Education of the Education Unit Velasco Ibarra of Guamote, Province of Chimborazo, as it known to have a low academic performance in mathematics, for it has been developed a survey for students in order to ascertain which are the main causes of underachievement in this subject. The questions were developed considering three aspects: the problems due to the learning environment, the student, the teacher and the institution. The data collection instrument was applied to the same 190 students, 5 teacher and 2 authorities, that were processed statistically using Microsoft Excel 2016 tool with descriptive statistical techniques. He could find that there are problems related to the student due to lack of motivation, lack of educational recovery and communication between teachers and students, as well as problems related to the institution mainly due to infrastructure. Was also found problems related to the professional practice of teachers, among others. In conclusion of this work you can state that teacher training in active teaching methodologies is needed, such as the incorporation of technological tools in the educational process. |
