It has an incidence of approximately 10-11%; it is associated with socio-biological variables, obstetric history, and complications in the current pregnancy. Among the maternal and fetal pathologies that end in preterm delivery are placenta previa, placental abruption, cervical insufficiency, pre-eclampsia, intrauterine growth retardation, fetal distress, high blood pressure, urinary tract infection, anemia, and systemic infections. Objectives: To establish the most common determining factors and their relationship with preterm delivery in pregnant adolescents. Material and methods: an analytical cross-sectional study was carried out, to create the determining factors of preterm birth, in 61 pregnant women between 12 and 19 years of age, with a diagnosis of preterm delivery, attended at the General Teaching Provincial Hospital of Riobamba in the period January to December 2019. |
