El escaso desarrollo de prefabricacion de viviendas en la zona centro del Ecuador

Nowadays, the prefabrication of elements has been a solution to generate large-scale housing that is structurally safe, economical and comfortable. A brief bibliographical review of the sixteenth century to the present, presenting the reasons for the success or failure of the method of prefabrication through history, as well as the theoretical advantages and disadvantages of this constructive system. . The concern to generate housing in Ecuador due to the fact that it presents a housing deficit of 18.90% brougtht the opportunity to specifically promote the construction of houses using new constructive technologies such as prefabricated houses as a faster and cheaper way to address this issue defict. The purpose of this research was to identify the factors that influence a poor development of the prefabrication of houses in Zone 3 of Ecuador, for this purpose field data was taken though surveys and interviews directed to both users and builders, respectively to get different opinions about the subject. The analysis of the data shows that the main causes for users not using this technology in our country are mostly; conservatism, few sales strategies, lack of information and availability of labor.
