| Shrnutí: | The following research, entitled “Origami and Attention in Preschool Children at the Dr. Nicanor Larrea León Educational Unit in the city of Riobamba,” aimed to propose origami as a playful learning technique to promote attention in the children at the aforementioned institution, highlighting its importance in the teaching–learning process. Due to a lack of interest in learning about and working with this art form, children do not develop attention effectively. In this way, origami is presented as a tool and playful resource in educational practice, emphasizing its significant contribution to basic understanding in early childhood. It is also a technique that is fun and enjoyable for children, and is used by people as entertainment, developing skills and abilities in those who practice it. The methodology of this project is framed within qualitative research using a non-experimental design; in terms of level and scope, it is descriptive and documentary. Within this project, the direct observation technique was used; for the statistical analysis, an observation sheet was employed as an instrument, applied to a population of 25 high school students. It is concluded that the results show a large percentage of children are familiar with origami and can work with it, as well as a high percentage who perform the activity by following the instructions correctly. Therefore, it can be mentioned that this research highlights how origami technique enhances the development of skills, attention, and creativity in children.
