Zusammenfassung:Work overload negatively influences human beings. For this reason, the main objective of this work is to investigate the incidence of active breaks in the work performance of the administrative staff of the Municipal Autonomous Decentralized Government of the Alausí Canton in the period November 2021-September 2022. Stress is one of the main consequences of work overexertion, and the lack of active breaks is increasing; for this reason, a quantitative investigation was carried out, in which surveys were used for better data processing. Once analyzed, the technique called "t student" was used, which resulted in accepting the alternative hypothesis, which indicates that active breaks significantly influence the labor development of employees of the GAD of the Alausí canton. This work research has been divided into six chapters, which explain the subject quickly and understandably. After the development of this research, it was concluded that employees need to take active breaks since the surveys showed the high level of stress that exists and the improvement after applying these. With this, it's recommended that they carry this out at least three times a week and that employers seek recreational activities to relieve stress, improve the work environment, and contribute to a better lifestyle for employees.
