Description
Résumé:Bell's palsy is the injury or disease of the facial nerve, in its infra nuclear portion causing weakness in the muscles of the face due to involvement of the VII cranial nerve, this condition can be caused by viruses and exposure to toxic agents and other internal causes such as neurological damage caused by trauma, metabolic, neoplastic problems or infections. The main objective of this study was to determine that the application of the Reflexology technique improves the signs in the subacute stage of Bell's Palsy of the adult who attend the physical rehabilitation area of the "Santa Rosa" Health Center in Riobamba, on March-April 2019 period. In data collection, the methodology used was quasi-experimental, qualitative and quantitative, with a type of applied, observational, descriptive and field research, where an intervention was carried out with the application of the House Brackman scale and the Synchinesia Test. by observing the sample and using a developed evolution sheet. Finding a group of female patients with right laterality with greater affectation of facial mimicry, on the House Brackman scale, referred to grade IV, considering a high value of facial deformity and the Synkinesia Test referred to as score 2 considering it a high value of degree of weakness that affects the contractile muscular elements. The analysis obtained from other investigations describes female patients with right laterality as the sample with the greatest involvement of facial mimicry and the presence of synkinesia.
