Summary: | This research project aimed to determine gross motor function activities that support balance development in children from 3 to 5 years old at the "Jesús Infante" Basic Education School in Riobamba City. The research methodology followed a mixed approach, with a descriptive, nonexperimental, transversal, and field design. The population was constituted of all the students from the school, but the sample consists of 22 students of kindergarten classroom B. The instrument used was an observation sheet which was used to obtain the necessary data for this work. The results were processed through statistical tables and graphs, which allowed us to conclude that children's gross motor skills directly complement balance. It should be emphasized that theory and practice are axes that work together, so learning gross motor skills theory while focusing on fun exercises can have positive results. Therefore, it is concluded that gross motor skills are fundamental for balance in children as they allow them to move more easily and safely; the proper acquisition of these skills allows infants to have greater independence and confidence in performing physical activities, as many gross motor skills children develop as better, they become more able to control their balance when walking, running, jumping. This proposal to improve gross motor skills includes ten easy activities to implement inside and outside the classroom with accessible materials. By using this proposal, teachers will be able to promote the integral development of children in areas such as motor skills, cognition, language, balance, and socioemotional skills, since gross motor skills stimulate all these areas. |
