Shrnutí:The aim of this research project was to systematize anxiety and depression in adult oncology patients. The methodology used was bibliographic and descriptive. The population consisted of 120 scientific articles that were collected from databases such as PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar and Elsevier, published between 2014 and 2024, a non-probabilistic sampling was performed based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, consisting of a total of 17 articles. Methodological quality was determined using the CRF-QS (Critical Review Form-Quantitative Studies) instrument. The results indicate a high prevalence of anxiety in oncology patients, influenced by factors such as the type of cancer, phases of treatment and geographical conditions. Factors such as gender and age also play an important role, with higher anxiety reported in women. Anxiety levels range from mild to severe, and its persistence affects quality of life. As for depression, its severity varies, being more frequent in moderate and severe levels, especially after diagnosis and during intensive treatments such as chemotherapy.
