Ամփոփում:Introduction. Preeclampsia is currently defined as a hypertensive pathology during pregnancy that includes multisystemic involvement, is accompanied by hypertension and proteinuria. It is present in 8.3% of pregnancies and with a 14% incidence of infant mortality in Ecuador. Antiplatelet agents, such as aspirin, have been proposed as a preventive measure. Initiation in the second trimester is recommended to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. Objectives. To synthesize the updated information on the prophylactic use of microdose of aspirin in the prophylaxis of preeclampsia in moderate or high-risk pregnancies, through a consolidated of the scientific literature and the analysis of management protocols absed on the literature. Methodology. A systematic investigation of original experimental articles available in the databases that were published in the last five years was carried out : Cochrane, Science Direct, Scielo, Pubmed and Medigraphic. Incursion terms such as "hypertension", "preeclampsia", "aspirin in pregnancy", among others were used. Results. Most of the articles found support the efficacy of aspirin in reducing the development of preeclampsia, especially when administered before 20 weeks of gestation (p<0.05). Conclusions. Based on these results, an aspirin dose of 150 to 162 mg taken daily should be preferred for prophylaxis of pregnancy complications in women at risk of preeclampsia.
