Resumo:This research project aims to identify the Ethnographic Museum as a generator of cultural identity in the inhabitants of the Chigüilpe community – Santo Domingo, term January – June 2018; as well as, analyze and determine the composition and influence of the museum through effective investigation techniques. It is highlighting its culture, tradition, and custom, which are part of its identity and as such is the museum. The ethnographic museum created as a rescue proposal. It has been characterized by the tendency to make small museums with collections of hunting instruments, fishing, archaeological remains among others. Nowadays, there are no facilities necessary for a proper investigation and exhibition of cultural material. Besides, it is within a protected area of the State, which has promoted its inclusion in the constitution of 2008, recognizing that it is a plurinational and pluricultural country, and therefore the learning, transcendence, and survival of this culture are vital, for sharing knowledge to those who visit it. This research is argued through studies conducted in ethnographic museums; as for the applied methodology, the inductive – deductive, documentary and field allowed to check and analyze our proposed variable. Concluding that the ethnographic museum is part of the identity of the Tsáchila culture, which is still alive, through the exhibition and the teaching the local people, national and foreign tourists about their experience, and generate identity through it.
