Description
Summary:ABSTRACT: The research is of documentary type and was carried out to analyze and evaluate the information on the physiotherapeutic intervention of Sarcopenia through the Muller-Hettinger technique, arguing its direct and indirect effects on the lifestyle of the older adult population; through the scientific evaluation of articles with proven academic rigor to provide a source of truthful information for the community in general. Sarcopenia is known as a skeletal muscle disease characterized by the loss of muscle mass and thus its function; the progression is attributed to age and changes related to skeletal muscle in which the ability to produce force per unit of muscle decreases, for this Physiotherapy proposes intervention through the Muller-Hettinger technique (isometric exercises) to maintain independence in mobility. The information compiled comes from different scientific databases, bringing together around 75 articles that met the criteria of impact, including 36 articles of scientific and methodological quality. The results show characteristics of the study population, as well as positive effects such as independence in the development of activities of daily living, improvement of muscle mass and strength, and impact on the quality of life of older adults.
