סיכום:The objective of this research is to determine the academic motivation of students with migrant parents of the "Riobamba" Educational Unit. Taking into account the importance of investigating academic motivation, since in the current knowledge society in which we are immersed, school and academic success becomes an essential tool that marks and in many cases defines the destiny of a person. The methodology had a quantitative approach and the instruments used were the socio-demographic questionnaire to establish migration characteristics and the Academic Motivation Scale (AMS), to determine the levels of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and demotivation with the dimensions and levels corresponding to them. The sample consisted of 50 students in the 6th and 8th years of general basic education. The interpretation of the data was carried out from the data processing by means of the objectivity of the Excel program, complemented with the elaboration of statistics such as tables, pies and bar diagrams, making the analysis of the questions included in the survey and of the results of the AMS academic motivation scale. The results obtained globally within the academic motivation are the following; in what corresponds to intrinsic motivation: the IM to achievement, to knowledge are at a high level and the IM to stimulating experiences are at a medium high level, within what corresponds to extrinsic motivation: external regulation, introjected and identified are at a high level, while within demotivation, what corresponds to amotivation is at a medium level.
