| description | The objective is to analyze the tourist potential and its influence in the planning of the parish La Candelaria, Cantón Penipe, Province of Chimborazo. The research is correlational and explanatory, the design is non-experimental and consists of three phases: Phase 1. Diagnosis of the tourism potential in the parish according to the residents, whose sample was 222 surveys, older than 18 years; Phase 2. Analysis of the tourist planning, the sample was of 5 interviews applied to representatives of the parochial GAD; Phase 3. Diagnosis of the tourist potential in La Candelaria, with a sample of 80 surveys applied to tourists. In the interviews it was evidenced that there is the necessary economic resource to enhance tourism development. However, the surveys show as a result the inadequacy of planning, infrastructure deficiency and training of the inhabitants, so that of the total number of people surveyed, 30.38% consider only the Nevado el Altar as the main attraction; this allowed us to evaluate and corroborate the natural and cultural wealth that is being lost due to the disinterest of the inhabitants who do not identify tourism as a source of untapped economy. By means of the verification of hypothesis it was demonstrated that the tourist products and the valorization of resource if they influence in the bakery of the parish. Finally, a proposal was proposed to solve the needs of the parish. |

La investigación es correlacional y explicativa, el diseño es no experimental y se compone de tres fases: Fase 1. Diagnóstico del potencial turístico en la parroquia de acuerdo a los moradores, cuya muestra fue de 222 encuestas, mayores de 18 años; Fase 2. Análisis de la planificación turística, la muestra fue de 5 entrevistas aplicadas a representantes del GAD parroquial; Fase 3. Diagnóstico del potencial turístico en La Candelaria, con una muestra de 80 encuestas aplicadas a turistas. En las entrevistas se evidencio que existe el recurso económico necesario para potenciar el desarrollo turístico. Sin embargo, las encuestas arrojan como resultado la insuficiencia de planificación, deficiencia en la infraestructura y capacitación de los pobladores, es así que del total de personas encuestadas el 30,38% considera únicamente al Nevado el Altar como atractivo principal; esto nos permitió evaluar y corroborar la riqueza natural y cultural que se va perdiendo por el desinterés de los habitantes que no identifican al turismo como una fuente de economía sin explotar. Mediante la comprobación de hipótesis se demostró que los productos turísticos y la valorización de recurso si influyen en la panificación de la parroquia.
