Sumari:ABSTRACT This research aimed to characterize and identify the biopsychosocial factors related to suicidal ideation and intentionality in the students of the Nursing Career at Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo; the study had a quantitative approach, cross-sectional design, type bibliographic, and field with a descriptive level. The population was made up of students in the Nursing Career, and the sample was made up of 100 students from the 1st to the 3rd semester of the career. The psychological batteries used were the Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale and the Beck Suicidal Intention Scale, in addition to a questionnaire that analyzed the relationship of biopsychosocial factors with suicidal ideation and intention. Among the results obtained that had greater relevance, it was possible to visualize that: The Biopsychosocial factor that has a more significant relationship with suicidal ideation and intentionality in university students is emotional problems with 48%, followed by family problems with 27% and substance use with 16%. On the other hand, it was also obtained that there is a high percentage of low suicidal ideation with 76% but medium suicidal intentionality with a percentage of 76%, which affirms that most university students have problems at the level of affective and that many of them have not presented suicidal ideation. The data obtained in the present study will be of great importance since they will facilitate and allow the planning of future strategies regarding mental health in university students.
