Description
Summary:Several investigations attribute to the deficiency of the proprioceptive system as the etiology of knee injuries, the aim of this investigation is determines the efficiency application of the proprioceptive training in sprain grade I internal knee collateral ligament in high performance athletes of the knee. Sports Federation of Chimborazo, the subjects studied were 15 aged between 10 and 14 years, 12 of them gymnasts and 3 karate experts. The static proprioception of the affected extremity was evaluated with the Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT), the dynamic proprioception with the modified Active proprioceptive jump test (APJT), and muscle strength by the modified Abalakov test and Lewis formula, training Had a duration of 45 minutes each session for 5 days a week for two months per athlete, where the results showed that static proprioception improved by 35%, 80% dynamics, increasing balance, postural balance and decrease of Recurrent knee injuries by 93%; Without significant variation of increase or improvement of muscle strength, therefore it was concluded that the proprioceptive training program designed produced improvements and was effective.
