Description
Summary:The objective of the present research is to build bricks made of clay mortar and Portland cement type I, its purpose is evaluating bricks viability according its mechanic properties within building industry, getting a choice which fulfill all requirements of professional’s managers of construction. With the objective of evaluation of the physical’s properties of the raw materials, we make a comparison between the two types of clay, the first sample comes from the Cochancay mine (Azuay) and the other one from Santa Clara mine (via Puyo-Tena). We elaborate a total of 35 test tubes with each sample, those sample were tested at 7, 14, 21 and 28, setting apart the mechanical properties of the wall. The results show that the wall from the Cochancay mine, exhibit pressure resistance of 5.66 MPa, a break module of 0.374 MPa and a water absorption rate of 9.14% according to the weight of the dry wall. Showing that the wall made of clay from Cochancay mines are doable in the construction industry. The retraction, the economic result and exploration of new ways of constructions, of the walls elaborated with clay and Portland type I are aspects that required a lot more information and research.
