סיכום:ABSTRACT The nurse practitioner is in charge of providing quality care based on a comprehensive assessment of the patient to satisfy the requirements tampered with according to the patient's health. The personnel providing care to the person intoxicated by paraquat should act quickly and promptly to avoid complications or lethal consequences because it is a contact herbicide characterized by being highly toxic after ingestion, producing lesions that check the degradation of the respiratory, cardiac, digestive, and nervous systems. A study was prepared to determine nursing interventions in patients with paraquat poisoning, by collecting documents published in the bibliographic bases Scielo, Lilacs, Redalyc, BVS, official websites of the World Health Organization (WHO), and Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador (MSP), published between 2016 and 2021, of which 87 were taken for the literature review. Finally, the risk factors to characterize the affected population are poverty, age, sex, wide availability, lack of information and use of biosafety measures, inadequate management of toxic agents in homes, and emotional state. The principal nursing intervention to intoxicated patients by paraquat include respiratory, ventilatory, and circulatory assistance measures, detoxification, prevention of toxicant absorption, and pharmacological treatment.
