| Riassunto: | ABSTRACT: Fairtrade is a solidarity and alternative trade system that seeks dialogue, transparency, respect, and equity to promote ethical business practices (Editorial RSyS, 2022). The widespread and Solidarity Economy is defined as the set of resources, capabilities, production activities, distribution, circulation, financing, and consumption carried out by workers and their families through community or self-managed associative forms to produce goods or services to responsibly ensure the subsistence of all members of a society and meet the needs. The research used a qualitative-quantitative approach, combining qualitative and quantitative aspects to thoroughly understand the phenomenon under study, fair trade, and its impact on Riobamba's popular and solidarity economy. The qualitative approach focuses on a detailed understanding of experiences and perceptions, while the quantitative approach focuses on numerical measurements through surveys. The research has determined that fair trade has a positive and significant impact on the popular and solidarity economy in Riobamba. The data collected, and the analyses indicate that fair trade practices promote equitable remuneration for producers and workers in the region, contribute to sustainable community development, improve living conditions, and increase the cohesion and strength of local organizations and associations.
