Herramientas de Periodismo de Datos utilizadas en el Diario ‘‘La Prensa’’ para la cobertura de temas locales en Chimborazo durante el periodo enero-junio 2023

The present research project entitled: Data Journalism Tools Used in ‘La Prensa' Newspaper for the Coverage of local issues in Chimborazo during the period January-June 2023, has as its primary objective to identify the impact of the use of data journalism tools on the audience of 'La Prensa' Newspaper, through an analysis of the journalistic contents of its website and Facebook. For this, theories and key concepts were investigated to help substantiate the topic of study. The research approach is of mixed type; the deductive-inductive method was used, and a non-experimental research design was used. The types of research are descriptive, explanatory, qualitative, and synchronous. Likewise, matrices were designed for each month to analyze the informative contents, and a questionnaire of questions for the interviewees was elaborated. In this way, it was possible to determine the positive impact of the tools on the media audience, allowing them to elaborate journalistic content containing a series of resources such as tables, graphs, images, and infographics, making the narratives more precise, detailed, and understandable for the readers. Finally, a scientific article was produced as a communicational proposal with the results obtained.
