| Περίληψη: | Children with intellectual disabilities from the Special Education Unit "Carlos Garbay" city of Riobamba have problems with gross motor skills (basic movement patterns), which hinder their performance in educational and social work. Through fun activities children develop gross motor skills, however due to the lack of technological innovation in this area, have low levels of motivation that hinder the proper performance when motor coordination activities. Therefore, this research aims to automate recreational activities using natural user interfaces, which combine technology with physical exercise, helping children gain autonomy, associating them directly to the current technological society, which will help significantly to their motivation and self-esteem. The investigation of the theoretical analysis of two main categories: gross motor skills and natural user interfaces, so that it is analyzed from observation, as the development of gross motor skills is transformed with the assistance of hardware. In this research the quantitative results obtained from the evaluation of recreational activities automated employing interaction based on gestures developed under the Kinect platform, same that were applied through a pilot test on 17 children with intellectual and motor disabilities, as result was achieved that children get a high number of activities that contributed to the development of gross motor skills and in turn could demonstrate a high level of motivation and willingness on children at the time of activities, therapists considered as a useful, fun and easy tool to use. |
