Beskrivelse
Summary:This research paper studies Foreign Direct Investment and its implications for the unemployment rate across Latin America from 2000 to 2017 with the goal of assessing whether Foreign Direct Investment is a driver of unemployment rates. It is important to highlight that with the goal of unbiasing this analysis, three control variables were employed: GDP per capita, inflation, and wages, given their high theoretical correlations with economic growth and development. Ryan: Similarly, the study is structured in three chapters. Chapter I examines each of the variables and their definitions, classifications, and economic theories, demonstrating an exhaustive review of the literature. Chapter II contains the research design, establishing the method, the study type, and the evaluative model being applied, specifically Panel Data and Vector Autoregression (VAR) models. Chapter III is composed of the analysis and interpretation of results and the discussions which guided the econometric process, highlighting that the conclusions are based on 18 Latin American countries.
