| सारांश: | ABSTRACT Food and beverage companies are industries within the manufacturing sector, mostly considered as Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (PYMES), dedicated to developing activities of supplying products for human and animal consumption in order to satisfy the needs of their customers. This research project with the theme: "Electronic Commerce and the Profitability of the Food and Beverage Companies of the PYMES of Ambato, First Semester 2020" was elaborated to know the influence that electronic commerce has on these, for which in the investigation, the deductive method was used because it allows observing from the general to the particular of the information, this was followed by field and documentary research, which allowed information to be gathered through the application of surveys, and subsequently an evaluation was carried out for the analysis and interpretation of profitability indicators with general information from the website of the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance, which led to the establishment of the respective Pearson's R correlation. In effect, the study concludes that the factors that encourage companies to use electronic commerce in the food and beverage sector are new markets, technological advances, innovation, and competition to achieve business growth. Since this form allows selling or buying, optimizing costs and expenses, and simultaneously making sales with a good profit margin, this helps us relate electronic commerce and profitability properly.
