| Summary: | Tourism, an economically vital sector that promotes global prosperity, finds in Ecuador an Eden of natural and cultural riches, making it indispensable. This study focuses on Colta, a municipality in the province of Chimborazo, where the lagoon, the Balbanera church and its gastronomy paint a unique picture. Despite its promise, the lack of clear data on tourism interest obscures strategy evaluation and growth planning. This research investigates the impact of tourism demand on regional participation, considering contributions, services and provisions. The study is structured in five parts. The first exposes the problem, justifying the need and clarifying the objective. The second is based on theory about the reasons for travel and the choice of activities. The third details the technique used, a qualitative, non- experimental, descriptive and explanatory method. This is theoretically supported by the relationship between demand and tourism, serving as a methodological reference, achieved through skillful data collection. Among the observations, we explore how travelers, services and offers impact community tourism, postulating a substantial correlation with participation in Colta. The results seek to be an instrument to refine tourism administration, strengthening the offer and positioning of Colta as a sustainable destination. This analysis drives the growth of Ecuadorian tourism, emphasizing the value of concrete information to take advantage of opportunities and face challenges. |
