| Sammanfattning: | The present investigation is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness and safety of early laparoscopic cholecystectomy in young adult patients with gallbladder lithiasic pathology who have previously undergone Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). ERCP is a commonly used technique for the treatment of choledocholithiasis; however, the recurrence of symptoms and the possibility of complications such as cholecystitis in young patients raises the need to evaluate post-ERCP surgical intervention as a strategy to improve clinical outcomes. The objectives of this study include identifying surgical criteria and indications for early laparoscopic cholecystectomy, analyzing specific benefits documented in the literature, assessing the risks associated with omitting this intervention, and determining the optimal time to perform it. The methodology employed consists of a comprehensive review of recent clinical studies and scientific sources that address the techniques and outcomes of laparoscopic cholecystectomy in post-ERCP settings. The findings of this review indicate that early performance of post-ERCP laparoscopic cholecystectomy contributes to a significant decrease in the incidence of complications such as recurrent cholecystitis, infections and need for re-interventions. In addition, a reduction in hospital stay and shorter recovery time compared to delayed surgery has been demonstrated, which has a positive impact on patients' quality of life. However, research also identifies limitations in its application for certain subgroups, such as patients with large stones, multiple episodes of pancreatitis, or in resource-limited settings where access to skilled surgical teams may be restricted. In conclusion, early post-ERCP laparoscopic cholecystectomy is presented as an effective and safe alternative that, when applied under specific criteria and with adequate infrastructure, optimizes clinical outcomes in young adult patients with biliary lithiasis pathology. |
