| Summary: | The research aims to determine whether students of the Economics major tend to behave more selfishly compared to students of other majors. Non-parametric and parametric tests were used on data obtained from the prosocial behavior scale, consisting of two dimensions: helping and comforting. From a sample of 385 students of the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo, the results of the nonparametric-parametric tests indicated no differences in the prosocial behavior of students by type of career. However, the multiple linear regression results showed that students in the Economics career have less collaborative behavior. It was further identified that gender and semester level affect students' prosocial behavior. Females tend to be less selfish, and students in the first semesters are more narcissistic than students in higher semesters. |
