Sumari:The objective of this research was to determine the incidence of the stimulation of basic functions for the literacy process in children from 3 to 4 years old at the “Safari Kids” Initial Education Center in the city of Riobamba; It is of great value the depth with which the acquisition of basic functions in infants must be worked so that in the future they are not affected, among others, reading and writing. The methodology is a quantitative approach; its design is non-experimental; The type of research by its level is descriptive, correlational and field; Its type of study is transversal; The population was children from the “Safari Kids” Initial Education Center; its sample is non-probabilistic and intentional; Observation and interview techniques were used with their respective instrument, the observation sheet and the interview; the same ones that allowed obtaining results that were analyzed and interpreted for their conclusion, determining their acquired level of skills with respect to their basic functions.
