| Summary: | This research emphasizes the importance of collecting information on a rapidly emerging topic, namely artificial intelligence, with a focus on the perspective of educators. This focus arises from the fact that educators are encountering new challenges when applying assessments to their students, due to the increasing use of this technology in the completion of academic activities. The study aimed to analyze the perspectives of educators in the field of Basic Education regarding artificial intelligence and educational assessment, given that the use of new technologies has brought about changes in assessment processes. The research was conducted using a mixed-methods approach, combining elements characteristic of both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. In addition, the research employed a non-experimental design, with an exploratory research type. It was considered bibliographic, field, and documentary in terms of location, analytical in scope, and cross-sectional in terms of time. For data collection, the quantitative component utilized the survey technique and its instrument, the questionnaire, while the qualitative component used the interview technique and its qualitative instrument, the question guide. These techniques and instruments were applied to a purposive non-probabilistic sample of eleven educators from the Basic Education program. The main conclusion of the research was that the use of artificial intelligence presents new challenges for educators in their assessment processes. Furthermore, educators in the program consider it necessary to modify or adapt the structure of their assessments to ensure that the students' actual knowledge and learning are evidenced through its application |
