Riassunto:This research project aims to provide relevant information on pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies for managing postoperative pain in patients, as this represents a clinical challenge within the hospital setting. Traditionally, patient recovery and postoperative care have relied on medications such as analgesics, NSAIDs, opioids, and adjuvants, which may cause a variety of adverse effects. To address this issue, non-pharmacological strategies have been developed to complement the effectiveness of drugs, yielding positive results and optimizing resources. The objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of pharmacological treatments with non- pharmacological approaches in postoperative pain management. For this purpose, a systematic literature review was conducted on articles published in the last five years using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, SciELO, and Elsevier, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, which resulted in seven relevant studies. The results demonstrate that combined interventions significantly reduce pain, decrease the need for opioid use, and improve patient quality of life. Techniques such as physiotherapy, thermotherapy, TENS, music therapy, and continuous epidural analgesia showed significant clinical effectiveness. Finally, a multimodal approach integrating both types of strategies allows for more individualized care, promoting improved overall well-being in postoperative patients.
