Streszczenie: | Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disease characterized by endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. According to the WHO, endometriosis affects 5% to 10% of women of reproductive age and commonly presents with pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, and, in some cases, infertility. Diagnosis is often confirmed through surgical procedures, and traditional treatments include pain relievers, hormonal contraceptives, and, in severe cases, surgical interventions such as endometriotic tissue resection. This research focuses on diet and physical exercise as complementary elements in managing endometriosis symptoms. It examines the influence of an anti-inflammatory diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and healthy fatty acids and low in proinflammatory foods such as saturated fats and refined carbohydrates. The positive impact of antioxidants like vitamins C and E is also noted for reducing inflammation and improving patients' quality of life. Regarding exercise, regular physical activity is highlighted for its ability to reduce pain associated with endometriosis, primarily due to its effect on the production of anti-inflammatory myokines. Various studies show that activities like stretching, walking, and breathing exercises contribute to a significant reduction in pain levels. However, intense exercise may worsen symptoms in some patients, so a moderate routine is recommended. The integration of an anti-inflammatory diet and moderate exercise can be effective complements to conventional treatment for endometriosis. The intake of antioxidantrich foods, such as fruits and vegetables, and a reduction in red meat and processed foods helps mitigate inflammation. Additionally, regular exercise promotes endorphin production and has anti-inflammatory effects, reducing chronic pain. This comprehensive approach, combining lifestyle changes, offers an accessible and non-invasive alternative for symptom management. However, each intervention should be tailored to the individual needs and capabilities of each patient. |
