Description
Summary:The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between parental socialization styles and aggressiveness in eighth-year students of Higher Basic General Education, parallel “A”, “B”, “C” and “D” of the Educational Unit "Cap. Edmundo Chiriboga. ” The styles of parental socialization are the different responses that parents show to their children's behaviors; On certain occasions, the adolescent may be aggressive because of the way his parents educate him, being our starting point for this research. Methodologically, we worked with a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design. The type of research by level or scope was descriptive and correlational; by the objectives, it was basic; by place of field; while the type of study was conducted transversally. The study population was the students of the Educational Unit “Cap. Edmundo Chiriboga”, the sample is not probabilistic and intentional, it was made up of 133 students from 12 to 14 years old who correspond to the 8th year of parallel EGBS A, B, C, D. The techniques used to collect data were Psychometric instruments: ESPA 29 (Styles of Parental Socialization) and CAPI-A (Aggression Questionnaire). Besides, the level of correlation among the variables was found with a bilateral significance of, 047, and it exists a low positive relationship between the variables. Finally, it determines the relationship that exists between the styles of parental socialization and aggressiveness at a low level, where it shows that the actions of the parents in the face of the different behaviors of their children is not the main factor for the adolescent to be aggressive.
