要約:I In the accomplishment of the research we proposed the general objective in order to establish the relationship between the family structure and its impact on the academic performance of students in seventh level of Basic Education in "Once de Noviembre" elementary school in Riobamba, during the period September 2015 to April 2016. Alternative proposal with results. The type of research was exploratory, descriptive, explanatory. On the other hand, for the design was applied the non-experimental research also using the bibliographic or documentary and field in the same way the observation techniques was applied and the survey that took us to verify and prove the hypothesis. Using the excel program, it was possible to carry out the analysis of results, from which frequency tables and graphs were elaborated, where cases were adapted, frequencies and percentages of each items survey items were incorporated. The results of the research showed that students live in households with different types of family structure ranging from rigid with authoritarian parents, as well as overprotective, which has given rise to a negative impact on academic performance; They also received physical and psychological abuse in 58.14% at the moment they obtained low scores among their causes. It was determined that it is caused by the effects of the mismatch of partners in 58.14%. Therefore, it is influencing the Academic performance of students. Hence, and in order to reduce this problem, the respective workshops were developed to modify family attitudes and improve the academic performance of students.
