Efecto anti fúngico “in vitro” de aceite esencial y extracto alcoholico de Rosmarinus officinalis “Romero” sobre Candida albicans cepa ATCC 10231
This paper aims to evaluate the anti-fungal effects "in vitro" of essential oil and alcoholic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis "EARO" at concentrations of 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% of Candida albicans strain ATCC 10231. For this purpose, we proceeded to implant in Sabouraud agar us...

| Gaia: | This paper aims to evaluate the anti-fungal effects "in vitro" of essential oil and alcoholic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis "EARO" at concentrations of 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% of Candida albicans strain ATCC 10231. For this purpose, we proceeded to implant in Sabouraud agar using the diffusion method with experimental solutions into small boxes, which incubated for 18 h at 37 ° C, after this period of time we proceeded to collect the readings of the inhibition halo diameters. The results obtained of the inhibition halos were an average of 5.8mm in 15% EARO, 9,1mm in 20% EARO, 10.66 mm in 25% EARO, 11.83 mm in 50% EARO, 12.5 mm in 75% EARO, 14.73 mm in EARO 100%, the inhibition halo generated on essential oil was 9.2 mm. Verifying that the alcoholic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis "Romero" presents an anti-fungal effectiveness on Candida albicans ATCC 10231. It was determined that the alcoholic extract is more effective than the essential oil at fungal level and both substances are potentially useful in therapy against candidiasis |
