| Περίληψη: | Classical Liberalism has been a political-economic position that has not been sufficiently disseminated in the Ecuadorian context. It offers alternative roles to those provided by different political ideologies, both political and economic. It is based on a system of individual, economic, and political freedom, democracy, independence of powers, and meritocracy, where people are entitled to the benefits they achieve with their efforts. Our country, Ecuador, like some Latin American countries, has suffered a certain detachment towards these positions of classical Liberalism, adopting different contrary positions, either due to the educational system, populist speeches, or the sympathy of a party that promised to help them and that would lead equality for all the most vulnerable sectors. Furthermore, in our country, governments have called themselves liberal. Still, in practice, this has yet to be proven accurate since there has not been a fundamental division of powers, true freedom of expression or individual, political freedom. or economic, but rather, they have been fragile issues in practice. It is also essential to know that the essence of classical Liberalism in Ecuador has been almost wholly lost. Different trends have appeared, such as libertarianism and a new wave of socialism. But what concerns classical Liberalism in its essence as such no longer exists in Ecuador |
