總結:The problem of leaks in drinking water distribution networks has become problematic when it comes to being mitigated, represented in a large percentage by losses of water volume and economics that must face the entities in charge of controlling and providing the service. In Tena Canton, there are deficiencies in micro metering and collection due to the existence of inverse measures, direct connections, and clandestine facilities; so, this study aims to determine the incidence of leaks in the drinking water supply network in order to see the amount of leaked water and economic losses in the different distribution networks. In this research, a qualitative and quantitative methodology was used: qualitative by the collection of information, inspections of reserve tanks, and leak repairs in situ and quantitative by the analysis of injected volumes, estimation of flows, and water balance, respectively. Through the analysis of the technical water balance proposed by Cabrera et al. (1999) applied in the Tena Canton in the period 2019-2022, the result is a percentage of non-revenue water (IANC) of 56.46% corresponding to a Range III-Low under the provisions of the ARCA and an overall system performance of 47.12% with a rating of "Unacceptable." Based on the results, an action plan was developed to solve attention problems and minimize leaks.
