Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:The main objective of this research study was to focus on diabetes mellitus which is a chronic condition that arises when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or the body does not effectively use the available insulin. It is classified into four types: type 1 diabetes mellitus, type 2 diabetes mellitus, gestational diabetes, and diabetes mellitus associated with specific medical conditions. Early diagnosis and detection of risk factors are possible using tools such as the FINDRISC risk scale. The Findrisc test consists of eight questions and assesses the risk of developing DM2 in the next 10 years. The following is a narrative literature review of a documentary nature whose objective is to evaluate and describe the efficacy of the Findrisc test as an individual risk assessment tool for developing Diabetes Mellitus type 2, by means of information compiled from 30 articles in databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar and Scielo that apply the same in various population contexts at the level of Ecuador. This test has proven to be simple, low cost and quick to apply in global trials. It is an ideal non-invasive method for the detection of prediabetes before resorting to more expensive and invasive tests. Its use enables early intervention, facilitating decision making to promote health and prevent diabetes in primary care. The implementation of Findrisc in primary care is fundamental to identify at-risk individuals and perform timely preventive interventions, thus improving health outcomes and reducing the incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
