Résumé:The objective of this research was to determine the level of assertive communication and its effect on the relationship between peers in parallel seventh year students A, B and C of Basic General Education of the Educational Unit "Nicanor Larrea León", April period - August 2019. Assertive communication is a skill of great value that must be immersed in school coexistence but unfortunately this type of communication does not develop, therefore, it has resulted in a series of difficulties of: verbal, physical and psychological aggression causing an uncontrolled emotion thus affecting the peer relationship in the educational field, methodologically has a qualitative approach, its design of non-experimental research type of research by the descriptive and correlational level, by the basic objective; by the place of field and its type of cross-sectional study. The sample was of the intentional non-probabilistic type, with 41 students including 59 men and 59 women. The instruments for data collection were; Psychometric technique, Shelton's assertiveness test for the independent variable and for the dependent variable the survey technique, in addition to other resources such as the SPSS 23 statistical program for data analysis. Where it was found that the level of assertiveness is low, being slightly assertive and maintaining good relationships between peers, therefore, gives as evidence that there is a very low positive correlation between the variables investigated
